International Ministries works closely with over 100 volunteers each week. There are so many ways for you to be involved! Below are some opportunities available. Feel free to also contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
As you can imagine, international students and scholars face many challenges adapting to a new place, language, and culture. What you may not know is that approximately 80% of international students never step foot into an American’s home. Help change this statistic by volunteering to be a Host Family and having one or two international students/scholars over to your home for dinner, weekends, and/or holidays. After your initial meeting, you and the international student(s) can decide, according to their needs, how often they will visit (it is okay if you only have them over once). Go to Host Family Guidelines and Application for more info.
English Conversation Partners…
Many internationals are proficient in reading English but struggle with speaking and listening. By being a conversation partner, you can help with this important need while building a friendship. Meet once a week for 1-2 hours, according to you and your partner’s schedule, for 2 months. Go to English Conversation Partners for more info.
